At this point, it's hard to tell where we are going to end up...
So here's where we are.
Runs under Linux and Win32. Other unices may work but have not been tested.
Inheritance-based access control lists (Hierarchical Access Control)
Modules allow filesystem access, dynamic linking, basic string operations
and (when compiled without multithread support) basic console functions.
LAC medium-level language allows efficient coding with reasonably
intuitive syntax.
...and here's some short term objectives:
(The long term objective is world domination, of course.)
Comprehensible, useful documentation in TeX, info, or HTML format.
(Raw PDF is a bit hard to edit!)
Management agents for controlling Argante remotely and/or with an
intuitive interface, and interactive debugging
Modules for network interaction, and graphical display.
Turn LAC into a high-level optimizing compiler.
You can contribute this project! See contribution
section for details.
